Four Incredible Weeks of Summer Fun at Truckee Sports Camp!

It is hard to believe we are already four weeks into our 12th summer at Truckee Sports Camp, and what an amazing few weeks they have been!

Every summer, our goal is simple: create a place where kids feel safe, supported, included, and excited to come back each morning. Watching friendships grow, confidence build, and smiles get bigger every day reminds us why we do what we do.

Adventure Every Day

The last four weeks have been packed with adventure. From beach days and mountain bike park sessions to hiking, tennis, golf, team sports, and plenty of games, every day has brought something new.

One of our biggest highlights was our Adventure Friday with Waterman's Landing in Carnelian Bay. The kids spent the morning kayaking and paddleboarding on beautiful Lake Tahoe before enjoying the beach and finishing the day with mini golf. It was an unforgettable experience and one we hope to make a regular part of our Friday adventures.

More Than Just Sports

While we love helping kids become stronger, faster, and more confident athletes, Truckee Sports Camp has always been about much more than sports.

Each week we focus on a character-building theme that encourages kids to become great teammates and even better people.

Over the past month we've explored:

• We Are a Team – Learning that everyone belongs and that the best teams support one another.

• Courage & Confidence – Stepping outside our comfort zones, trying new things, and believing in ourselves.

• Integrity & Respect – Doing the right thing even when nobody is watching, treating teammates with kindness, and showing respect for ourselves, others, and the game.

These conversations happen every morning before we head out for the day's adventures and have become one of the most meaningful parts of camp.

Celebrating Great Kids

One of our favourite traditions is ending each week by recognizing campers who truly embody the values of Truckee Sports Camp.

Our MVP Awards aren't about scoring the most goals or being the fastest athlete. They celebrate kids who encourage others, work hard, show kindness, display great sportsmanship, and make everyone around them feel included.

Watching campers cheer louder for someone else's award than their own is exactly what team culture is all about.

The Summer Isn't Over Yet!

Although we've already created so many fantastic memories, there are still more adventures ahead.

With beach days, mountain biking, hiking, sports, games, and exciting Friday adventures still to come, we can't wait to welcome both returning campers and new faces for the rest of the summer.
